Marcel Young, Marcel is an 8th-grade clarinetist currently studying at Booker T. Washington Middle School for the Arts in Baltimore. Starting his studies in the 1st-grade, he has been a part of the Baltimore Symphony's OrchKids program for almost eight years. At OrchKids, Marcel studies with Renzo DeCarlo and currently performs with the Symphonic Band and Brass Band. Previously, he was a member of the Tuned-In program at the Peabody Preparatory and has participated in programs like the Ithaca College Summer Music Academy and King School El Sistema residency in Connecticut. This fall, Marcel will begin high school at the Baltimore School for the Arts studying clarinet with David Drosinos, having earned admission through a competitive, multi-day audition process.
