Susan Zhang is a pianist, entrepreneur, and educator whose accomplishments in curating and delivering performances have earned her numerous awards and praise from audiences around the country.
Susan made her orchestral debut at the age of twelve with the Augusta Symphony. Susan was a prizewinner of the Thousand Islands Chopin Competition, the Bauru-Atlanta Competition, the Burgos International Music Festival Competition, and the Arthur Fraser International Piano Competition at the Southeastern Piano Festival. She has performed in numerous venues across North America, Europe, and Asia.
In 2016, Susan co-founded The Concert Truck, a traveling music venue that makes classical music concerts accessible to any outdoor space. Under Susan’s artistic leadership, The Concert Truck has collaborated with organizations such as the Kennedy Center, Aspen Music Festival & School, Southeastern Piano Festival, Piano Cleveland, Hilton Head International Piano Competition, Seattle Chamber Music Society, and Dallas Symphony Orchestra to share music and build new audiences with their local communities.
Passionate about sharing music with the next generation, Susan created and starred in a children’s series, which was broadcast to over 55,000 students in North Carolina. She is currently on the YoungArts Classical Music Panel and has served as adjunct faculty at Peabody Conservatory. She has also given lectures on entrepreneurship to students at musical institutions such as Rice University Shepherd School of Music, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and the Mannes School of Music and mentored aspiring artists at the New World Symphony, sharing her professional insights with the next wave of musical talent.
